Fit Together · Last updated 11 September 2026

Fit Together is a workout tracker built around training with someone else, so most of what it stores is meant to be seen by one other person. This policy sets out exactly what we collect, who it reaches, how long it lives, and how to get rid of all of it.

We do not sell your data, we share none of it with advertisers, and there is no advertising or analytics software of any kind in this app. Workout plans are built by our own algorithm, not a third-party AI model, so nothing you put in is sent off to train one.

What we collect

Account. Your email address and display name, from Google Sign-In. We never see your Google password.

Training data you enter. Body weight and weigh-in dates, rest days, workouts, exercises, sets, reps and weights lifted, workout duration, saved workouts, exercise substitutions, goals and target dates, streaks, rank and badges.

Profile details you choose to give. Height, age, sex, activity level, training focus and goals. These tailor your workout suggestions. You can leave them blank.

Photos. A profile picture, workout proof photos and progress photos. All three are optional and none is required to use the app.

Video clips. If you record a clip during a live session, we store a short video of you until it expires. Recording uses your camera and microphone, and the app asks your permission first. Clips are limited to a single view by the recipient, and the video file and its record are both deleted the moment it is watched, or automatically after two hours if it never is. The camera is also used, again only with your permission, if you take a proof or progress photo inside the app rather than choosing an existing one.

Live session activity. When you start a workout with live sharing on, your partner sees that you are training, and depending on your settings what you are training. Cheers and reactions sent during a session are stored.

Messages. Text and emoji you send your partner as encouragement, along with when they were read.

Group membership. If you join a group or train with a coach, we store which groups you belong to and your role in them.

Notifications. If you turn on reminders, we store the push subscription your browser or device issues. This is an address for delivering a notification, not a device identifier we can use to track you elsewhere.

Timezone. Your device's timezone name, so a workout logged late at night lands on the right day and reminders arrive at a sensible hour.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your health app data, your advertising identifier, or anything from other apps.

Nobody else using the app can read any of it, including people who know your email address. That boundary is enforced by the database itself rather than by the app on your phone.

Progress photos are visible only to you. They are stored privately, served through links that expire after a few minutes, and are never publicly browsable.

One honest limitation. The switch that hides your workout details from your partner currently controls what their app displays, not what their app downloads. Your training rows are still sent to their device, where nothing shows them. Treat that switch as a display preference, not a hard boundary, until we say otherwise here. Progress photos and clips are not affected: those are restricted at the server.

Workout generation

If you tap "Generate for me," the plan is built by an algorithm running on our own servers, using your training preferences and body metrics (age, sex, height, weight, activity level, goals and recent training history). None of that data is sent to a third party to produce the plan.

Who else handles your data

We use a small number of service providers. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Loading a page or a font necessarily discloses your IP address and device type to whoever serves it. That is true of every website and it is the only thing those font and code services receive.

How long we keep it

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Setup, then Delete account, inside the app. There is no waiting period and no email to send.

Deleting your account erases your profile, weigh-ins, workouts, exercise logs, saved workouts, substitutions, goals, badges, live sessions and reactions, messages, group memberships, notification subscriptions, proof photos, progress photos and clips, including the underlying image and video files, and then removes the sign-in account itself. It also unpairs your partner, who keeps their own history. A copy may persist for a short time in our database provider's routine backups, which are overwritten on their own schedule and are never used to restore a deleted account.

You can also delete individual items without closing your account: any weigh-in, any workout, any photo, and your partnership.

Security

Everything is encrypted in transit. Access is restricted by per-user rules enforced inside the database, so a request for someone else's rows is refused at the server rather than hidden by the app. Photos and clips are served only through short-lived signed links.

No system is perfect. If you believe you have found a security problem, please write to the address below rather than posting it publicly, and you will get a reply.

Children

Fit Together is not intended for anyone under 13, we do not knowingly collect data from children, and we will delete any such account promptly if it is brought to our attention.

Your choices

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
